Don Bosco College Central Library is a repository of information on Humanities & Commerce Department. The Don Bosco College Central Library started its collection and development of print/ non-print media from the year 2010 and has adequate number of books, journal, e-book and e-journal etc. Don Bosco College Central Library has own website and adopted new emerging tools like Web 2.0 tools, Q R Code and CCTV etc. Apart from this, Don Bosco College Central Library has a well-established fully air conditioned. The facility of “Open Access System” adopted in the Don Bosco College Central Library. Library has partially automated and facilitate computerized Catalogue Search Services though OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). Users can search and browse their particular documents through Subjects, Author, Title, and Publishers, ISBN etc. The search facility is also available online. This service is restricted to access within college campus through internet. The process is under way to host the Web OPAC. The Don Bosco College Central Library also provides an excellent Photostat facility, which is available within the Don Bosco College Central Library and User-Orientation Programmes are continuously being undertaken in the Don Bosco College Central Library for newly admitted students. Books are classified subject wise and arranged according to the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme with the help of OCLC & Indcate website. The Don Bosco College Central Library is open from 9.30 a.m. to 2.45 p.m. on all working days. In the Don Bosco College Central Library, we have 02 National and 2 regional English newspapers subscribed. We have circulation section, reference section, Group Discussion Room, E-library section. 1. Circulation & Book Lending
a) Two Library cards are issued to each student for 03-year validity, for Honors students 03 Library Cards & for faculty 04 Library Cards. (One Card One Book)
b) A library book issued can be retained for a period 07 days for students & 15 Days for faculty. If the user wants to retain the books beyond 07/15 days, he/she has to renew the books. A fine of Rs. 10/- will be charged for overdue per day.
2. Internet Facility/ E-Library
Don Bosco College Central Library has an e-library facility to encourage blended learning of the faculty & students by subscribing online e-journals.
i) Our college is a member of the N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) programme of UGC INFLIBNET since 14/07/2020. N-LIST is providing access to a huge number of E-Resources such as e-books, e-journals, documents, etc. can be downloaded and saved.
ii) National Digital Library of India (NDLI)
Our college is a member of the National Digital Library of India. NDLI is a virtual world full of books and e-resources in digitized formats. NDLI is easy to use and any resources can be accessed here with a single search option. NDLI is the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) sponsored and is hosted by IIT Kharagpur at ndl.iitkgp.ac.in.
iii) IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial
Our college is a member of the IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial. The Spoken Tutorial project is funded by the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the erstwhile Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. Don Bosco Central Library will start the best reader award for users to motivate users to make use of the library and its services. Students will select on the basis of academic performance and after using the library.
