Alumni Association

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF DON BOSCO COLLEGE, ITANAGAR

The Alumni Association of Don Bosco College, Itanagar is an integral part of the college. The Alumni Association is a permanently affiliated and registered member of the National Federation of Don Bosco Alumni, based in Delhi. The organizational structure of the Association consists at the local level the Union/ Branch/ Unit; at the Provincial Level-Provincial Federation; at the National level the National Federation, and finally, the World Confederation. The Registration Number of National Federation of Don Bosco Alumni is 36942 of 2000.

The Alumni Association was formed during its first meet on 12th March 2016, under the guidance of the then principal Lt. Dr. Fr. Nicholas Guangdiat. During the meet Mr. Kenli Nyorak was chosen as the President and Ms. Neelam Rupa was chosen as the Secretary of the Alumni. A total of 46 former students registered themselves in the Alumni. The term for the executive members was decided to be for three years. In the academic session 2016-17, Rs.2,25,000 /- was donated by the alumni.

The Alumni Association was once again revived by the Principal, Dr. Fr. Jose George during the academic session 2018-19. The first service rendered to the college by them was through their participation in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Cleanliness Drive organized on 2nd October, 2018. Later the Alumni had also rendered their support during the College Week 2018 by acting as referees in various sporting events. The Alumni had donated Rs. 39,000 /- in 2018-19.

On 2nd October, 2019 the alumni had once again come together to render their support to the college through the social work conducted in and around the college. The Third Alumni Meet was held on 14th December 2019. Many former students registered themselves to the alumni. The term of the first executive members of Alumni Association had come to an end. Mr. Kenli Nyorak was reelected to the post of President and Mr. Tenzing Norbu was elected as the General Secretary. A total of 11 executive members were selected for the second executive body of Alumni Association. On the eve of Republic Day, the Alumni conducted a Painting Competition on 25th January 2020. Cash awards were given to the winners of the competition. The Alumni also donated Rs. 1,55,000 /- during the session 2019-20.

On 24th October, the Alumni along with some NSS volunteers distributed handmade masks to the people in and around Jollang. On 30th January, 2021 the Alumni celebrated Don Bosco Feast and took stock of situation in the college. The Alumni also took part in Lt. Fr. Salew Thomas Memorial Volleyball Trophy. Rs. 97,000/- was donated in the academic session 2020-21.

The Alumni Association has been actively supporting the college for the past many years. The Alumni Association shall continue to support its alma matter in whatever way possible always.
